Aaaaaaaaactually, matter can be turned into energy (e.g.: nuclear reactions) and vice-versa (Higgs’ boson thing. look it up.), thus being destroyed and/or created. Also, considering that the Big Bang theory is correct and that the “egg” suggested by it has not been there forever - meaning that by some inexplicable process it was formed within a spaceless universe -, it would have to be created at some point.
